Like Mary

perfume

Lord thank You for allowing me to bless and lift Your name
I praise You and lift Your name on high
There is no one like You, Oh God
I ask that, You continue to use me
I desire to be Your Mary
I seek to empty my most precious and most valuable oil across Your feet
Cleanse them equally with the locks of my hair
I wish to sing the song You desire and long to hear
I want to be Your delicate worshiper
I will move and step to the dance You want to see
I will always hunger and wait patiently
Feed my spirit, which yearns for You
I will always be thirsty for more and more of you
Your love is everlasting and I THANK YOU!
Thank You for taking me by the hand
Leading the way, as my Father
As your child, I will always follow
My heart can never empty enough thanks,
But I say…
Thank You Lord
Thank You!

I was encouraged to write this during a very stressful day at work and after going through a time where others needed me. They needed me to help encourage them & uplift them…I wanted everything to just be right, to just be OK. It was such an overwhelming feeling and it took a toll on me. I was sitting at my desk on the verge of just breaking down. Out of nowhere, I got a text message from a friend and it simply said, “you inspire me.” While trying to be strong for everyone else I wasn’t being strong for myself. I realized that God was speaking to me, telling me to stay strong because I’m chosen. There was no need to be weak because I had to do the assignment He needed me to do, by just allowing Him to use me & speak through me in order to reach someone else and then He would handle the rest. Once I realized that I said, Wow….Lord I want to please you – I want to be the Mary that worships you gracefully and complete Your will!

“Then Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.” John 12:3
