I was lying in the bed this morning after letting my alarm clock snooze three times (definitely not a morning person), but as I laid there, a vision flashed before me. I saw what looked like a very dark well….so dark it was almost pitch black. At the very bottom of the well I could see a glimpse of what looked like a pile of bones – dry bones. In the mist of the darkness, I could see they were gray – very old and decayed. Obviously, lifeless and dull. There was nothing else. No ray of light, no bright green grassy hills, or no rows of colorful flowers surrounding the well. There were no birds singing, no leaves rustling on the trees, and no sun in the sky. Nothing but the inside of a dark, black, gloomy, murky well – very bleak and depressing confining a pile of dry decayed bones. There was no expectancy, no serenity, no happiness.
Listen – there are some of you going through a dry season of hopelessness, desperation, and disappointment. You have been left feeling dismayed, unproductive, unrewarding, and useless. Your spirit is empty and lacks joy, peace, clarity, and rest. It’s time for you to COMMAND LIFE to your circumstance! SPEAK life to your spirit. SPEAK life to your mind.
Of course, I was brought to Ezekiel 37:1-14. The hand of the Lord brought Ezekiel to a valley full of bones – a valley full of dry bones. He made him walk back and forth looking at all the bones. There were countless bones lying at the floor of the valley. The Lord told Ezekiel to prophesy to the bones. He gave him the exact words to say. So, Ezekiel commanded the bones to listen to the word from the Lord saying, “I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.” As he prophesied, the bones began to rattle and come together piece-by-piece and joint-by-joint. It amazes me that the bones knew exactly where God wanted them to be aligned!
Soon fleshed appeared on the bones, but they still had no life – no breath. Then, the Lord told Ezekiel, “prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, breath, from the four winds and breathe into these slain, that they may live.” Ezekiel did as he was instructed by the Lord and soon breath entered the flesh and bones and they stood to their feet – they rose out of the grave in the valley and stood like a measureless army – An army of God’s soldiers ready to enter the promise that God had for them!
If that doesn’t blow you away – I don’t know what will! God has a promise for you too! He didn’t promise that you’ll be dry, lifeless, and without hope. He didn’t promise that when you faced your worse day, it would be the end. So, do it now – speak life to your circumstance, your spirit, and your mind. Lay your hands over your head and speak this, I declare life! I declare hope! I declare that my circumstance, my spirit, and my mind awaken and align to the plans that God has for me! I declare that anything not of the living spirit of God quicken at the sound of my voice and awake from the grave of despair! I declare that I will walk in hope, love, and peace! I declare that my circumstance is not my future – it’s not the final outcome! I declare the promises of God over my life! And I decree and declare that the will of God is done on earth as it is in heaven, today and days to come! In Jesus name, Amen, Amen, and Amen!
You should release a sound of praise! God’s promise will never broken!
He promised, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future!” – Jeremiah 29:11
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” – Matthew 11:28-29
